Wanda Marya Maximoff, code named Scarlet Witch is a fictional character and superheroine of Marvel Comics and has been a regular member of The X-Men and The Avengers, and appears as a major character in said team's comics.

She is a mutant who has the ability to use chaos magic, and is the twin sister to Pietro, a fellow mutant who can move at fast speeds.

Originally a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Wanda and Pietro would redeem themselves and become members of the Avengers, a superhero team that stopped threats. Scarlet Witch became the love-interest to the Vision, an android created by Ultron, and the two would later marry.

Along with starring in two self-titled limited series of her own, the character appears in animated films, television series, arcade and video games as well as other Marvel-related merchandise. Scarlet Witch is portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
